If you haven`t looked at the other News From England before, read this in case it may save you some time.
The Other News consists of a selection of articles on whatever subjects find their way to the top of the pile on the week in which it is written. Whilst some of it is intended to be serious, quite a lot is just a bit of light reading (or heavy, if you are a certain type of person), and intended to keep you amused, and cause people to question some of the assumptions of life. Most of the material here is written by the editor, but no single article necessarily reflects the views of the editor or anyone else who writes here. They only might.
Blackspoton BSE.
He`s nearly always at odds with the establishment. click here to see.
Next week I hope to find the time to tell you about a dodgy builder`s merchant, a dodgy insurance company, a questionable judge and freemasonry - if I can fit it all properly together.
That may be shocking to you, but in fact the town of Dachau is quite a pleasant place, marred only by it`s appalling past.
The reason I have chosen to approach this subject by this circuitous route is that I believe that most people are not yet ready to look seriously at the ecological dangers of over-population, but I am hoping that personal fear might make them begin to think on the subject.
Virtually everybody in Europe over the age of forty knows of the horrors of Hitler`s concentration camps, and many will have wondered how such things can happen.
What Hitler did was not difficult to do. He started off by appealing to the massive yob element - always the first part of the population to feel such things as overcrowding. When he had the support of such a huge collection of yobs he was in a position to force the more civilised element into compliance with his ideas - and no doubt there were other methods available to him, as there are to modern politicians.
He needed scapegoats, and the Jewish people were the easiest to pinpoint. These he imprisoned and turned into slaves - allegedly at least 6 million of them. To these he added gipsies, `foreigners`, anyone a bit unusual, the mentally ill, and anyone with a useful level of intelligence (you don`t really want anyone intelligent if you are aiming for a `master race`). These were then all put to work and worked until they were near death, and then executed or left to die.
I have tried to make it as plain as possible to you in the hope that you will wish to oppose any further happenings of the same kind.
In case youd.
But is it an ideal one?
I hope I have got your attention enough to be able to talk about the ecological problems of overpopulation next week.

LETSSwing are booked to play at the opening of the new Bexley (Kent/S E London) LETS system on the 16th. January. If you wish to go or want to join Bexley LETS, the only contact number I have is 0181 855 4124.
We are also playing at Green Adventure`s party in Camberwell SE5 on 31 Jan (0171 277 2529 to join GA or see the band)
The English, on the other hand, tend to shy away from the subject of rhythm as though it is something beneath them.
In fact, not a few young English musicians would shy away from practicing rhythm on the grounds that they are already so superior at music that they don`t need to practice any such thing.
You can usually hear it, too.
I have never been in a band or orchestra that didn`t at some point have rhythm problems, yet I can only recall one where the practicing of rhythm was considered to be an ecceptable activity. Even here, people were ashamed not to be perfect as though in some way they were social outcasts - yet, why the hell were we practicing rhythm if we already had it perferct?
When you finally get to expd.

When you finally get to experience playing in time yourself with other players who can play in time, it suddenly becomes apparent how easy it is to play your instrument. Most of those tricky bits that you thought you`d never be able to play become purely a matter of a bit of patient practice.
So I have persuaded LETSSwing to start rehearsals from time to time with drumming practice. You just grab what makes a percussive sound and start drumming, and you go on until you are all drumming in good time with each other.
